We offer training in areas such as digital literacy, communication skills, healthcare support, entrepreneurship, basic financial literacy, and vocational trades. Our programs are tailored to local needs and are delivered through expert trainers, interactive workshops, and hands-on learning modules. By focusing on both personal and professional growth, these programs enable participants to gain confidence, pursue employment, start their own ventures, and contribute meaningfully to their communities. What We Do?
At Legmed Foundation and Research, we run inclusive Skill Enhancement Programs that empower individuals especially youth, women, and marginalized groups with practical skills to build better futures. Our approach goes beyond training; we focus on employability, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
Our training modules are aligned with local job markets and conducted in partnership with skill development experts and community-based organizations. Participants receive certifications, mentorship, and job placement support to ensure they transition from learning to earning. By investing in skill development, we’re helping individuals unlock their potential, become financially independent, and contribute to stronger, more resilient communities.
These courses are delivered in partnership with community skill centres, and local employers, ensuring direct pathways to certification, employment, or self-employment.
- Swasthya-Mitra:
The “Swasthya-Mitra” caregiver training program by Legmed Foundation and Research is a specialized skill development initiative designed to prepare individuals especially youth and women from underprivileged backgrounds for meaningful careers as home health aides and hospital care assistants.
This structured training equips participants with:
- Basic healthcare knowledge (vital signs, hygiene, patient mobility)
- Elderly and palliative care patient’s caregiver techniques.
- Emergency response and first aid.
- BLS (Basic Lift Support) training.
- Healthcare support services.
- Compassionate patient communication and ethics.
Delivered by experienced medical professionals and trainers, the program combines theory, hands-on practice, and clinical exposure, ensuring that trainees are fully job-ready upon certification.
Graduates of this program are linked to employment opportunities in hospitals, clinics, home care services, and eldercare centres, giving them a pathway to financial independence and social dignity. By building a compassionate, skilled caregiving workforce, Swasthya-Mitra strengthens both individual lives and community healthcare systems.
- Smart Sew
“Smart Sew” is Legmed Foundation and Research’s dedicated tailoring and garment-making program that empowers women and youth with the skills to earn, create, and lead independent lives. Rooted in local needs and traditions, this hands-on training initiative opens up pathways to self-employment, micro-enterprise, and job opportunities in the growing apparel sector.
Participants are trained in:
- Basic and advanced stitching techniques.
- Pattern cutting and garment construction.
- Fabric handling and machine operation.
- Design skills and finishing.
- Small business skills and pricing for profit.
Training is delivered by expert instructors in a supportive and inclusive environment. Learners are also provided with toolkits, peer mentoring, and links to local tailors, boutiques, and textile businesses for real-world exposure and placement.
Many graduates go on to start home-based tailoring units, form self-help groups (SHGs), or join garment production houses, making this program a true engine of livelihood and empowerment. “Smart Sew” stitches confidence, creativity, and economic independence into the lives of those ready to take their future into their own hands.
- Digi Sathi
“Digi Saathi” is Legmed Foundation and Research’s digital literacy and computer training initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide for youth, women, and underserved communities. In today’s tech-driven world, digital skills are no longer optional they are essential for accessing education, jobs, services, and opportunity.
Through this program, participants are trained in:
- Basic computer operations and troubleshooting
- MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data entry and file management.
- Email communication and internet navigation.
- Online safety, digital payments, and job portals.
Designed for beginners, Digi Saathi combines interactive instruction with hands-on practice, allowing learners to gain confidence and competence in real-world digital tasks. Graduates are supported in finding roles such as data entry operators, office assistants, and digital service agents, or using their skills to access online education and government services.
By making technology accessible, understandable, and usable, Digi Saathi helps individuals step confidently into the digital age opening doors to lifelong learning, employment, and empowerment.
- Be Professional
“Be Professional” is a comprehensive program aimed at preparing individuals especially first-generation job seekers for the modern workplace. Focused on communication, confidence, and career preparedness, this program bridges the crucial gap between skill training and professional success.
Participants receive practical, interactive training in:
- Spoken English and conversational fluency.
- Professional etiquette and workplace behaviour.
- Resume and cover letter writing.
- Mock interviews and confidence-building exercises.
- Time management, teamwork, and goal setting.
Through workshops, role plays, peer learning, and one-on-one mentorship, learners develop the skills to present themselves effectively and adapt to real-world work environments.
